Social networks make the education better, cheaper, more available and responsive, so they  have become very popular. The more users add new content, the more people reach the content and the link. So, with the help of this collective activity, web grows rapidly. Web 2.0 has brought some new such characteristics  Profile, Traversable, Publicly Articulated Social Network and Semi persistent Public comments as well.                                                         User generated content in education comes with both benefits and limitations. You can create projects with your students and assign them new tasks.   You can plan your lessons in detail, each students can create their own cart and work on the same board collaboratively. Teachers can see in which step their students are on their assignments. Teachers can also create group assignments for students to work in groups!   Here is an example of lesson plan made in Trello. We can even add more cart to this board if we want to! This is the second week's cart. We can add some photos, links, attachments and descriptions on each cart!

Nearpod

Resim
Nearpod is a tool that can help teachers make the class interactive. Teachers can create interactive presentations that include contents like videos, pdfs and audios or activities like polls, tests, open ended questions, matching pairs and quizzes. Students can gain access to these presentations through links and codes that teachers share with them. Teachers can share these materials either as live participation or student-paced.     Here's an example of Nearpod presentation. This is a powepoint slide I created a while ago but I added some contents on it with the help of Nearpod. We can add time limit and state a point for each question. Before saving this interactive presentation, we can also preview it.  Teachers can assign homeworks to their students. Students can engage on their own time as well! Teachers can provide a student paced code and they can access the Nearpod lesson at home, or anywhere with internet connection. Teachers can also create some mini games for students. T

Flipgrid

Resim
Flipgrid is a tool that allows you to create grids to facilitate video discussions. In each grid, teachers can post questions or some assignments for their students, and these are called Topics. Then, students can post video responses. These grids can be shared with students or even with some other teachers' grids for collaborative learning.  After signing up, teachers can create new Topics for students. They can arrange the amount of time that the videos should be(2-3 minutes or more).  Teachers can keep this grid special by allowing only the users with school's e-mail address.  It's a great tool to use in online education. Online education seems boring for students mos of the time. Ensuring an interactive lesson is teachers' hands. Users can upload and edit video, add more clips, cut and segment as well as enhance with emojis and texts. So, essentially, a simple video editing tool can produce a powerful result, depending on how creative you want to be!     Flipgrid ca

Peardeck

Resim
Peardeck allows active lessons to take the place of the traditional lectures. In remote learning, using slides in classes may be boring for students. However, Peardeck allows these lessons to be more interactive. Teachers can add audio to their slides, ask students if they have any questions. Also, as Peardeck is used on Google Slides, teachers and students can work on the slides at the same time. In this example, on this slide, teacher wants students to choose the write option for this situation. Although students and teachers are not together, with the help of Peardeck, teachers can ask these kinds of multiple choice questions or ask students if it's okay to move on the lesson or whether or not they understand the class. Teachers can want students to draw mind maps or figures related to the lesson.  In this example, teacher wants students to compare and contrast two people. Students can write what they have in their mind on the slides and teachers can see them at the same time.
